What does the qualification cover?
This qualification is ideal for those who would like to work with adults including the elderly. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector.
The qualification covers the areas of communication, equality, diversity and inclusion, personal development, role of the care worker, handling information, health and safety, safeguarding, duty of care and person-centred approaches.

What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 18 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements other than that you need a good working knowledge of English as this course is delivery in English.
How many credits are required to complete it?
To achieve this qualification, you must achieve a total of 20 credits from 9 mandatory units.
How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a portfolio of evidence.
Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
No, this is a knowledge only qualification however candidates will be required to complete a 100 hour work placement experience.
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in 3.5 months- lessons are held online.
